Staring of a Family - 2nd Month: Morning Sickness

ok I'm going to start rambling about my 1st trimester again.. yeah, I can almost hear u rolling yr eyes :p

I'm sorry if you accidental readers have to bear with this. Can't help it, 1st time mom, all new experience. I swear I won't complaint as much for #2 :)

Anyway, I've discovered the main culprit to my morning sickness. It's the bloody hormone pills!! Now that i'm pretty much stable and no longer spotting, I've reduced the dosage. So lesser hormone pills => less nausea => lesser dosage of vitamin B6 needed => less cravings.

But since yesterday, it's been a whole new equation.

lesser dosage of vitamin B6 => less cravings => less eating => sudden ravenous hunger + nausea => eat + feel better => hungry again in 1 hr + nausea => eat + feel better => hungry AGAIN in 1 hr + major hunger pangs... I'M CARRYING ONE HUNGRY BABY!

Apparently I read up and its very common in 1st trimester. This constant hunger starts around 6 weeks and should go away by end of the trimester. It's the hormones and also, the baby is forming at this stage. I have emergency snacks stashed in my fridge, in my bag, in my office drawer.. fruits, chocolates, biscuits, nuts. I have to carry food everywhere and I have to eat them FAST.

I can soon say goodbye to the 3kg i've just lost :( But i'm trying very hard to eat right.. sticking to protein and fruits and constantly eat/snack instead of having huge meals. While it's making me feel crappy, I know I wouldn't want this feeling to go away because it indicates that the baby is developing well!

On the positive note, a study shows that women with more jialat morning sickness produce smarter babies! Here --> http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/life/health/article/10360--morning-sickness-can-make-your-child-smarter-study
