Not in the mood to work, hence I blog

Currently at work now and attempting to get some work done. It's so hard to coz everyone's in a festive mood and it's raining heavily outside which makes me oh-so-lazy to get crackin'. How I wish the clock would move a tad faster. We're knocking off in approximately 2hrs time and then there's a company xmas party to attend. Ónly told hubby this morning that I'm on half day today and he went.. 'what? I've sent you all the way to work just so you could eat pizza?? Bring me back some!'

Anyway am glad with the presents I bought this year. I actually took some time to think through what to buy. All ready and nicely wrapped! But wouldn't it be nice to get cash instead like during Hari Raya and CNY? Before you judge me, like why the hell a hijab girl partakes in a non-muslim celebration, lets just say it's courteous and appropriate to have something on hand when you know u'll get presents. And how can I not attend when they took the trouble to call me way in advance just to find out which halal food I would eat or if I have any other preferences to include in the xmas menu. Sweet aren't they? Oh btw just found out it’s a tradition for muslims in the States to exchange gifts during Eid. Hmm, dunno about u, but for me that means extra headache finding the perfect gift on top of preparing a lavish Eid feast and spring cleaning/decorating the house.

Anyway, will be busy from tonite till this weekend baking and spring cleaning before the arrival of 2 more family members into this home. Oh god, don't know whether I should be happy or sad. Anyway, before the inevitable happens (haha), the girls are planing a little get-together on new year's eve at my place. Need to de-stress now before facing new challenges next year!
