Aww, so how was your hari raya?? Great I hope!

As for me, it's my 1st raya with hubby so I made an extra effort to find us matching outfits. We've gone orange! hehe.. sorry no pics. Too lazy to lug around a camera. And since it's the 1st raya with hubby, it also means 1st raya outing with the in-laws.

Well.. it was ok. Love the food! He's blessed with excellent cooks in the family so we had lots of variety.. from the ususal suspects to nasi minyak, nasi ambeng and so on. And yes, I was fully loaded with sweet/gassy drinks the entire day. I came home last night with a pregnant tummy, needless to say. Oh wait! Last night..? Make that THIS MORNING. At 1.30am.

Urgh! It was tiring as hell. Actually MY hari raya officially ended at 9.30pm coz I started yawning by then but the elders insisted we cover ALL houses yesterday night. Of course, our yawnings and dozing offs and SIL's constant reminders that she has to work early the next morning din give off even the slightest bit of signal to the elders that we DESPERATELY want to go home. I mean, what fun is hari raya if you have to drag yourself from one house to another and then snoozing on and off on other people's couches, just so u could keep up with the visitations? And isn't it rude to keep the hosts waiting till midnight when they too need their sleep? And let's not even forget the drivers. What if they doze off while on the road? But then, who am I to say all these?

Anyway, for those of you who CAN say/do something about it, here's some jalan raya tips:

1. Give ample time. Leave your house early!

2. If you have to cover 4567895666944 houses in one day, then keep to a time limit of 1 hour per house.

3. Do not wear high heels after 10pm as you'll be walking/swaying like a drunkard hence losing balance and glamour

4. Stock hot coffee/red bull to keep awake.

5. Last but not least, if all fails, feign migrane and excuse yourself.
