Did u guys felt the tremors on Monday night?
Well, i did. I was still doing my essays that night. Suddeny i felt giddy and so i closed my eyes and rest against the sofa thinking i had a headache. Bcoz i haven't had enough rest these couple of days. But somehow the headache got worse. My hands were resting on the table and I felt like as if the table was shaking. In fact, i felt my whole body swaying to and fro in a circular motion.
I panicked and quickly stood up. I still wasn't sure then whether the flat was shaking or it was purely my imagination. To my horror, i looked up and saw the chandelier in my living room swaying about. Even the curtains were moving, yet the windows were closed and the fan wasn't on.
I ran to my mom's bedroom and woke her up. She went ballistic and seriously thought i've gone bonkers, waking her up in the middle of e night thinking the whole flat was shaking. Then i told her, "Look!" pointing to the clothes rack beside her bed. The clothes were swaying to and fro. She tried to reassure me that everything's fine. A few seconds later, i think she freaked out and immediately got up.
By then we heard the neighbours' doors being closed and we saw em leaving their homes. Oh my, what kind neighbours i haf! Creeping out of their homes quietly, leaving the rest of us behind to die.. Urgh!! I was still deciding whether to run down to the void deck (i've got very slow reflexes), when the tremors stopped and i happily went.. "oh, ok!".. khkehrher.
Smsed syu after that. She was even more oblivious of the tremors ( the fact that she lives right opposite East Coast) and thought her grandma was the one shaking the bed. Lolz!! It was later that night that we both found out a powerful earthquake hit North Sumatra and the tremors could be felt up to Thailand.
Of coz, after the whole incident, i was too excited to sleep. Although this is not the 1st time i've experienced tremors (there were few slight tremors felt during last year earthquakes in Sumatra), it was definitely the most terrifying of all. I can only imagine what those ppl in Nias were going through. Too bad i din record the swayings on my videophone. I could upload on my blog and let u guys haf a quick view of it then.
A little update..
I haf finished my last research paper!! Erm, ok not really.. almost. I just haf to complete the conclusions part, proof read and then i'm done!! Yay, besok dah bole hurray hurray!! But u know what could make me more happy? If only there are any kind souls out there willing to give me tickets for Avril Lavigne's concert tonight.. Hmmm if only..
